What is Neurofeedback?

Neurofeedback, or EEG

biofeedback, is a non-invasive

neurotherapy, which helps you

train your brain so you can

enhance your brain health and

improve your performance. It’s

kind of like exercise, but for your

brain!

It uses EEG technology to

measure your brainwave activity

and provide feedback in real

time. This insight into your brain

activity can help you have more

control overreaching your goals.

It has been used in clinics for

decades to improve

performance and enhance

overall well-being and alleviate

symptoms of ADHD, PTSD,

anxiety,traumatic brain injuries,

and more.

Neurofeedback Benefits

Train Remotely

Traditionally, neurofeedback required frequent visits to a clinic, making it costly and time-consuming. Now, thanks to new technology, there's an easy-to-use,remote neurofeedback system that makes it possible to train anywhere using a wireless headset and mobile games and videos.

Your Own Support System

Your mental health provider will guide you on your journey to reach your  training goals, customize a training plan just for you, and ensure that you stay on track. The Myndlift Care Team will also be by your side

throughout your training journey to lend a friendly, helping hand.

How to Use Neurofeedback?

During a neurofeedback session, you will wear a dry electrode headset, with the option of an additional electrode placed on your head to measure brainwave activity. While you play games or watch videos, you will receive real-time feedback about your performance. This feedback helps you recognize when your brainwaves are in the desired state and when they are not. Over time, these training sessions can help regulate your brainwaves and support progress toward your goals.

Transform your life with NeuroFEEDBACK

ADHD

Individuals with ADHD may experience dysregulation in theta and beta brainwave activity, which can appear as:

· A constant need for movement

· Difficulty maintaining attention

· Trouble following detailed instructions

· Challenges organizing tasks and activities

For more than four decades, neurofeedback has been used in clinical settings to help address brainwave dysregulation and reduce symptoms associated with ADHD. Neurofeedback can be used together with other treatment options, such as behavioral therapy or medication.

PTSD

Neurofeedback enables clients with PTSD to recognize the signs of stress and anxiety and alter their brainwave functioning to a healthier state in order to achieve symptom reduction.

Cognitive Enhancement

An emerging body of neurofeedback research for improving cognitive function has demonstrated evidence for such conditions as stroke (Kober et.al., 2015; Kober et.al.,2017) and multiple sclerosis (Kober et.al., 2019; Keune et.al., 2019), with a particular focus on Alzheimer's disease as well as mild cognitive impairment, a pre-dementia condition (Peterson, 2004; Albert MS et.al., 2019), in the hopes of delaying the insidious cognitive decline and dementia onset.

Anxiety

Neurofeedback training that reduces arousal may be applied to reduce anxiety and create a generally relaxed state of well-being.

Depression

Neurofeedback for depression is based on well-established EEG research indicating that the left frontal area is more associated with positive affect, while the right frontal area is more involved with negative emotion (Davidson, 2004), in which asymmetric neurofeedback training is required to improve depressive symptoms.

Peak Performance

Neurofeedback for peak performance aims to control arousal, attention, and motivation, helping healthy individuals achieve maximal brain functioning. The main goal of training is to complete a specific function or task with fewer errors and greater efficiency (Vernon, 2005).

Transform your life with NeuroFEEDBACK

Autism

Neurofeedback offers a gentle, medication-free way to help the brain practice focus, calm, and self-regulation. During training, clients receive feedback through a video, sound, or game that helps the brain learn when it is moving toward a more balanced state. Research on neurofeedback for autism is encouraging but still growing. While results vary and neurofeedback is not a cure, it may be a helpful part of a larger care plan. With at-home options, clients can train using a wearable EEG headset and app-based activities with neurotherapy support. Neurofeedback may help support everyday skills such as attention, calmer responses to frustration, better sleep routines, communication, connection, and confidence.

Substance Use

Neurofeedback may offer gentle support during recovery by helping the brain practice calmer, more regulated patterns. It may support cravings, stress, impulse control, and emotional balance. Research is encouraging, and while results vary, neurofeedback may be a helpful addition to a larger recovery plan.

Sleep

Neurofeedback may help the brain practice relaxation and healthier sleep patterns. Clients may notice support with falling asleep, staying asleep, and feeling more rested. Research suggests it may improve sleep quality for some people, especially when paired with healthy sleep routines.

Chronic Pain

Neurofeedback may gently support chronic pain care by helping the brain practice calmer, more relaxed patterns. It may help reduce stress, improve coping, and support a healthier response to pain signals. Research is encouraging, and neurofeedback may be a helpful part of a larger pain management plan.
